Our journey began in 1988 with the mission of helping children and the community in one of the poorest slums in New Delhi.
We believe that education is the key to bringing India's children out of extreme poverty and hardship.
In 1990 we began the first Katha Lab School with five children. Today we have more than 9,645 children of all ages in our schools and nearly 100,000 in our reading programs!
